WCV Attorneys attend American Bankruptcy Institute Fourth Hawaii Bankruptcy Workshop

WCV attorneys attned the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Fourth Hawaii Bankruptcy Workshop at the Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, Maui, Hawaii.  The Fourth Hawaii Bankruptcy Workshop covered the following topics:  Individual Chapter 11 cases and the Absolute Priority Doctrine, Selected Topics in Chapter 11, Pre-Bankruptcy Planning:  Fraudulent Transfers, the Law of Individual Exemptions and the Law of Successor Corporations, Structured Bankruptcies in Chapter 11, Sales of Assets Free and Clear of Liens and Encumbrances, Section 363(b) and (f) sales, Report on ABI Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11, Ethics in Bankruptcy, and Bankruptcy Litigation and Supreme Court Update.  Various distinguished speakers, including bankruptcy judges, spoke at the workshop.  WCV Partner James Wagner was a panel speaker on the topic Selected Topics in Chapter 11, speaking on the sub-topic of "artificial impairment".  WCV Partner Chuck Choi was a panel speaker on the topic Individual Chapter 11 Cases and the Absolute Priority Doctrine.
